Gantt view visualizes data in a Gantt chart, which is commonly used for time management and progress tracking.

II. Steps
Create a Gantt view in three steps
Step 1: Create a Gantt view
Input dates: Create two date fields in grid view, which will be used as start and end dates for the Gantt chart.

Use a formula to calculate dates: If the end date can be derived from the start date, you can use the formula field (In the figure below, the formula is: End date = Start date + Expected time (days)).

On the left side of the page, click the + icon next to the table name and select Gantt view. Click Gantt view settings in the toolbar and customize the time bars.

Step 2: Set time bar dates and colors
Set dates: Click Gantt view settings in the toolbar and select the fields to use as start and end dates.

Set color: Click Gantt view settings in the toolbar and select Customize color or Align with records.
  • Customize color: All time bars have the same color, with eight color options to choose from.
  • Align with records: If the table has single option fields, the color of the time bars will match the color of the items from the single option field.

Set time bar titles: You can change the title of time bars by selecting a different field. Click Gantt View Settings in the toolbar and next to Title, select a field.
Users with edit permission for the base can set the title of time bars.
Note: All field types, except button fields, can be used as a time bar title.

Step 3: Set Milestones
Hover over a date until it turns into a flag and click it to create a milestone. Enter a name and press Enter to save.
Click a milestone to rename or delete it.

Customize working days
You can customize working days in settings to remove weekends and holidays from the Gantt view timeline. After enabling Calculate working days only, you can click Settings to choose to customize working days. The time bars will only display the working days and non-working days are grayed out in the timeline.

  • Custom working days: You can specify working days for the week, or click Add working days to specify specific dates as working days.

Rename view
  • Method 1: On the left side of the page, double-click the Gantt view name. Enter a new name and click anywhere on the page to save.

  • Method 2: On the left side of the page, click the ··· icon next to the view and select Rename View.
  • Method 3: Click the view name in the top toolbar, then click the ··· icon and select Rename View.

Show more fields
Click Customize Field in the top toolbar and click the eye icon next to the fields to show or hide them in the Gantt chart.
You can also right-click a field from the Gantt chart and select Hide Field.

Group data
Click Group in the top toolbar and select one or more fields to group by. The hierarchy of the groups is based on its order.
In the figure below, data is first divided into Normal and Important groups from the Priority field. Then, it is subdivided based on the Task leader field.
  • For normal tasks, Amy is responsible for three, and Bella and Betty are responsible for one each.
  • For important tasks, Betty is responsible for one and Lisa is responsible for three.

View in wide screen
Click the << icon in the left sidebar to collapse it and click the << icon in the upper-right corner of the field section in the Gantt chart to collapse them to view the chart in wide screen. The record name and duration will appear as labels in the time bars.
When time bars are not within view, click the or icons to quickly jump to the start date or end date.
