Use currency fields in Base

I. Intro
You can easily add currency symbols and set the number of decimal places to use for your records with the currency field.
Note: Number fields no longer support CNY or USD formats. You can change them to currency fields if you need the currency symbols.
Common use cases
  • Accounting departments: When transactions involve multiple countries, the currency field makes it clear which currencies are used.
  • International businesses: If your business spans multiple markets, you can use the currency field to avoid errors caused by incorrect currency units.
II. Steps
Add a field
  • Click the + icon on the right side of the table. Under Field type, select Currency.
  • Select a currency and number of decimal places, then click Confirm.
  • The currency symbol will be added to all numbers in this field.

Currency field settings
Double-click the name of the currency field to open its settings, where you can configure the field name, type, currency, and number of decimal places.
Use the currency format in formulas and Lookup fields
Currency format can also be configured in formula and Lookup fields (including the option to select the currency symbol and number of decimal places to use).

III. FAQs
Can I enter currency symbols manually in this field?
You can't enter currency symbols manually. You can only change the currency used in the field customization menu.
Does the currency field support custom currency units, such as 'million dollars'?
No, you can only configure the currency type and the number of decimal places to use.
