Use the Link Preview extension in Base

I. Intro
Link Preview is an extension that allows you to directly preview documents, tables, and most webpage links in your base.
Common use cases:
  • Resource management: When managing personal or team resources, you can review and check all related documents and webpages without ever leaving the document.
  • Customer relationship management: You can preview customer documents or websites directly in the document.
II. Steps
Add extension
  1. Open the base and click a record's Expand icon.
  1. In the upper-right corner of the expanded record, click the + Add extensions icon and add the Link Preview extension.
  1. If there are multiple fields with links in the base, select the field that you want to preview, and click Confirm.
Note: When there is only one field with links, its contents will be used for preview by default.
Manage extension
  1. Open the base and click a record's Expand icon.
  1. Click the Link Preview tab.
  1. On the right side of the pane, you'll find a menu with buttons for opening the link, copying the link, and setting the field for preview.
Note: You can drag this menu to move it around as needed.
Configure extension settings
  1. Open the base and click a record's Expand icon.
  1. Hover over the Link Preview tab.
  1. Click the icon to the right to set the tab as first, rename it, or delete it.
III. FAQs
Why can't some webpages be previewed?
Some web page settings may prevent it from being previewed.
Note: If you're an administrator of the webpage, you can add https://*. larksuitecdn.com and https://*. larksuite.com to content-security-policy: frame-ancestors.

Can I preview multiple link fields in a table at the same time?
Yes, you can add multiple Link Preview extensions and select different fields for preview.
After adding the extension in one view, do I need to add it again in other views?
No, the extension can be used in all the views of the table. If you need to use the extension in another table, you will need to add the extension again.
Why can't I simply click the link itself to preview it?
This function is still under development.
Who can add extensions in Base?
  • If advanced permissions aren't turned on, users with edit or manage permission can add extensions.
  • If advanced permissions are turned on, only users with manage permission can add extensions.
