I. Intro
Use the phone number field in Base to quickly enter and manage the phone numbers of your contacts, and make calls or send messages conveniently. You can also import contacts from your phone directly.
Use cases:
- Manage customer information: Manage customer contact information and call or send messages to them easily.
- User research: Use the phone number field in user research forms to collect contact information for follow-ups.
- Manage team contacts: Use the phone number field to collect and manage the contact information of team members.
II. Steps
Create a phone number field
Method 1: In grid view, click the + icon on the right side of the last field, and select Phone Number as its field type.

Method 2: In grid view, Gantt view, or calendar view, click Customize Field > New field, and select Phone Number as its field type. In kanban view and gallery view, click Customzie Card > New field and select Phone Number as its field type. Kanban view is used in the example below.

Method 3: Expand the record, click New field, and select Phone Number as its field type.

Input phone numbers
You can input phone numbers manually (either on the web or mobile app) or import contacts from your phone (only available on the mobile app).
On the mobile app, tap the icon on the right side of the phone number field to import from contacts.

Call or message someone on the mobile app
On the mobile app, after entering or importing a phone number, you can click the Phone icon next to a number to call or text that contact.

Manage the phone number field
- Modify field name and type.
Method 1: Double-click the field name.
Method 2: Right-click the field name or hover over the field name, click the Down arrow icon, and select Edit Field.

- Edit field description: Right-click the field name or hover over the field name, click the Down arrow icon, and select Edit Field Description.

- Duplicate or delete field: Right-click the field name or hover over the field name, click the Down arrow icon, and select Duplicate Field or Delete Field.
