I. Intro
Advanced fields of Base include two-way link, one-way link, created by, modified by, date created, and last modified date fields. For more details on two-way link fields, see Use two-way link fields in Base. For more details on one-way link fields, see Use one-way link fields in Base. This article introduces the other four types of advanced fields.

Created by, modified by, date created, and last modified date fields cannot be manually modified. They're automatically filled in based on changes made to each record.
  • Created by: Who created this record.
  • Modified by: Who last modified this record.
  • Date created: Date and time at which this record was created (The date format you set determines whether time is displayed).
  • Last modified date: Date and time at which this record was last modified (The date format you set determines whether time is displayed).
II. Steps
Create an advanced field
Method 1: In grid view, click the + icon to the right side of the last field, and select a field type.

Method 2: In grid view, Gantt view, or calendar view, click Customize Field > New field, and select a field type. In kanban view and gallery view, click Customize Card > New field and select a field type. Kanban view is used in the example in the right image below.

Method 3: Expand the record, click New field, and select a field type.

You can obtain personnel information from created by fields.
Modify the date format
You can change the date formats for date created and last modified time fields when you edit the field.
Double-click the field name, click the Date format dropdown menu, and select a format.

III. FAQs
Can I edit content in created by, modified by, date created, and last modified date fields?
No. The content in these fields is filled in automatically based on changes made and can't be edited.
