I. Intro
Use the email field to ensure only the email format is used. You can then click an email address in the base to add it as a recipient in a new email. This field type can also be referenced in automated workflows for scenarios such as sending email notifications.
II. Steps
Create a new email field
- Grid view:
Click the + icon on the right side of the table, and select Email for its field type.

Select Email under General questions.

Only content that meets the email address format can be entered into the email field.
Click the email address to send an email
When you click an email address, your email app will open with that email address added as a recipient.
Lark Mail will be used if you have Lark Mail activated and you're accessing the base from the Lark app. If you're accessing the base from a web browser, or if you don't have Lark Mail activated, then your local email app will be used.
Convert to a different field type
- Email field to person field: If the person converting the email field and the email address owner are in the same organization, the email address will be automatically converted to the corresponding member, and external email addresses will be cleared. You can choose to add the converted content as a new Person field, or directly replace the content in the email field.
- Text and other fields to email field: The original content will be kept if it's in an email format, otherwise, it'll be cleared.
