I. Intro
🔖
Version requirement: Lark desktop app version 6.9 or above. There are no version requirements for the web version of Lark.
Applicable scope: Instructions in this article apply to all document types in Lark Docs, including Docs, Sheets, Base, Slides, MindNotes, and uploaded files.
On the Lark Docs Manage storage page, you can view the size of the documents you own. You can also delete unneeded documents or transfer ownership of your documents to another member of your organization to free up your personal storage space.
II. Steps
View document size
  1. Go to the Lark Docs homepage and click Manage Storage in the lower-left corner.

  1. On the Manage storage page, you can search for documents by document name, type, location (Name of the corresponding wiki space or folder), or the start and end date (The creation time range).
  • You can select multiple types at the same level. For instance, you can select Docs, Sheets, Base, MindNotes, and All files, or select Images, Videos, Audio, and PDFs.

Additionally, you can hover over the document title and select the checkbox on the left to select multiple documents at once. You can then delete or transfer ownership in bulk.

  • If you click Delete, in the pop-up window, click Delete again to delete the document(s). Deleted documents will be moved to the Trash and will no longer take up your personal storage space. You can restore documents deleted in the last 30 days from the Trash. For more information, see Delete documents or folders.
  • If you click Transfer ownership, in the pop-up window, enter the name of the member to whom you wish to transfer ownership. You can also set whether to keep your collaborator permissions (optional), then click Transfer. In the confirmation window, click Transfer after the 5-second countdown ends. You will see a prompt that the transfer was successful.
III. FAQs
If I delete a wiki space parent page with subpages, will the subpages also disappear?
No. If you delete a parent page in a wiki space that has subpages, the subpages will not be deleted. Instead, they will move up one level in the table of contents.
If you want to keep the table of contents structure unchanged, create a new page at the same level as the page you want to delete, and then move the subpages to this new parent page before deleting the original page.
How can regular organization members check their available storage capacity?
Organization members cannot view their own storage capacity. Organization administrators can open the Lark Admin Console and click Product Settings > Docs > Storage Space to check the storage capacity of members. For more information, see Administrator Views Storage Capacity and Cleans Up Storage Space.
Can users with a personal account view their available storage capacity?
No.
How do I view the directory of a document on the "Manage storage" page?
Hover over the location below the title of a document to view the full storage path for the document.

Will the content in the Trash occupy my storage space?
Content in the Trash does not occupy your storage space, nor does it take up your organization's overall storage space.
  • If you need to free up your personal storage space, you can delete unneeded documents. Deleted documents will remain in the Trash for 30 days. After 30 days, they will automatically be permanently deleted, freeing up your organization's overall storage space.
  • If you restore a document from the Trash, it will occupy your personal storage space again. If you don't have sufficient storage space, the restore may fail.
Why am I still getting a notification that there isn't enough storage space after I delete a document?
After you delete a document, there may be a delay of 1-2 minutes in updating your available storage space, while larger documents could take up to a day. Wait and then refresh. If the issue persists, you can troubleshoot as follows:
  • Confirm whether the document you deleted belongs to someone else. Deleting another person's document only frees up storage for the document's owner and does not affect your own storage space.
  • Confirm whether you have only deleted the attachments in your document, such as videos or images. Deleting the attachments only will not free up any storage space. This is because the attachments will remain in the historical versions of the document. You must delete the entire document to free up space.
  • Confirm whether you have deleted the document from the Trash. Documents in the Trash do not occupy your available personal storage space, so deleting them will not free up any space.
