Follow updates in Lark Docs

1 min read
I. Intro
🔖
Who can perform these steps:
  • Internal documents: Users with view or edit permissions.
  • External documents: Users with edit permissions.
You can follow updates in a document to stay up-to-date with the latest changes. After you turn the feature on, you will receive a notification from Docs Assistant in Lark for edits made in the document. From the notification, you will be able to see who made the change and can go to the document to view the change details or turn off follow updates as needed.
II. Steps
  1. Open the document.
  1. Hover over the ··· icon in the upper-right corner of the document, and turn on Follow Updates.
After you turn on this feature, when collaborators edit the document, you will receive a notification with the name of the editor, from Docs Assistant half an hour later. If the collaborator edits the document again within half an hour, the notification will be based on their latest edit.
When you receive the notification from Docs Assistant, you can click View Details to go to the location in the document where the edit is made. You can also click Unfollow in the notification if you want to stop following updates in the document.

III. FAQs
Why can't I find the follow updates button?
If you only have view permission for an external document, then the follow updates button won't be available. You need to obtain edit permission for this document to follow updates.
Is the follow updates feature available for Base and MindNotes?
No. You can only follow updates for Docs and Sheets.
