Switch to view mode in Docs

Switch to view mode in Docs

1 min read
I. Intro
You can switch to view mode to prevent editing mistakes, reduce distractions, and simplify the interface, with the option to switch back to edit mode anytime.
  • Prevent editing mistakes: You can't make any changes in view mode so you won't have to worry about misclicking.
  • Reduce distractions: When other users make changes to the document, their selections and cursors won't be visible in view mode. You also won't see content being collapsed or expanded.
  • Simplify the interface: The interface looks cleaner in view mode, with no editing toolbars, buttons, and other components.
