III. FAQs
Will the location where I click "Import as New Docs" affect the storage location?
Yes. Where you click Import as New Docs will affect the storage location of the content. For specific information, see "Where will the uploaded or imported files be stored?".
Where will imported files be stored?
The storage location of the imported files depends on where the import was initiated. If you open the file, you can see the storage location in the upper-left corner. If you can't find the file, try using the search function. To learn the specific locations where imported files are stored, see Storage space, import, and Trash limits FAQs.
What is the maximum size limit for importing local files?
If the size of the local file exceeds the following limits, it cannot be imported as a Lark document.
Type of Lark document after importing
Size limit for local files
Doc
600 MB
Sheet
.xls or .xlsx format: 800 MB
Other formats: 20 MB
Slides
600 MB
Base
20 MB
Mindnotes
20 MB
Slides, sheets, and bases also restrict the number of elements, rows, and other items. For specific information, see the following:
What file types and formats can I import?
The file types and formats that you can import as Lark documents are shown below:

For more information on importing local files as sheets, bases, and slides, see the following:
Why is there no Markdown option in the pop-up window when I select the import type?
When the target storage location is a wiki space or My Document Library, importing Markdown files is not supported. Import the Markdown files to My Space (Drive > My Folder), and then move them to the wiki space or My Document Library as needed.
Why can't I import a local file as a Lark document?
Possible reasons are as follows:
  • If Lark notifies you that you cannot import the file, please check whether the file is damaged.
  • The file may be too large, or the network connection may be poor. Please adjust the file and network settings, and then try again. If you still cannot import the file, contact Support.
Can I import documents from other products to Lark Docs?
Directly importing is not supported. However, you can first download the documents from other products to your device, and then upload them to Lark Docs following the steps in this article.
Why can't I import .docx format files as documents?
  • If you receive a size limit prompt during importing, you'll need to split the content into two files and try again.
  • If there is no size limit prompt, it may be due to compatibility issues that prevent the importing of .docx files. Please convert the file to .doc format and try again.
Why has the file format changed after I've imported a file?
Importing a local file may cause changes in the file format, requiring manual inspection and adjustment. Local revisions, comments, and other information cannot be retained during the import process.
How do I export Lark documents or sheets to my local device?
Click the ··· icon in the upper-right corner of the document, select Download as or Download, then select the format to be exported. For more details, see Make a copy, print, download Docs.
Can I export all my documents at once?
No.
How do I upload files without converting them into Lark documents?
What's the maximum file size that can be uploaded?
It depends on your plan: 250 MB for the Starter plan, 50 GB for the Pro plan, and 100 GB for the Enterprise plan. To learn more, see Size and format requirements for uploading or previewing files.
