Explanation
My Space
(or Drive > My Folders)
Your storage space. Typically, the docs, bases, sheets, slides, mindnotes, files and folders you create are saved here by default.
Documents created in a wiki space do not appear in My Space.
Note: If the Lark Docs homepage does not display My Space and Shared Spaces, but instead displays Drive and My Document Library, you have entered the beta testing of the new version of the Lark Docs homepage. In this new version, My Space has been renamed to My Folders and is found in Drive. To learn more, see Get started with the new Lark Docs homepage.
Shared Spaces
(or Drive > Shared Folders)
Displays shared documents and folders
  • Documents and folders you create and share: After adding collaborators or setting up link sharing, the content will appear in My Space and Shared Spaces.
  • Documents and folders others share with you:
  • Documents: Whether you are added as a collaborator or through link sharing, the documents will appear in Shared Spaces. Documents shared with you through a link will only appear in Shared Spaces after you open the documents.
  • Folders: Only when you are added as a collaborator will the folder appear in Shared Spaces. Folders shared with you through links will not appear in Shared Spaces.
Note: If the Lark Docs homepage does not display My Space and Shared Spaces, but instead displays Drive and My Document Library, you have entered the beta testing of the new version of the Lark Docs homepage. In this new version, Shared Spaces has been renamed to Shared Folders and is found in Drive. Documents others share with you are moved to the Lark Docs homepage > Shared With Me. To learn more, see Get started with the new Lark Docs homepage.
Docs
Lark Docs primarily consists of Docs, Sheets, Base, and MindNotes. You can use these tools to create documents, spreadsheets, manage databases, and brainstorm ideas.
You can add shortcuts to documents and files in folders. This lets you access documents for different locations.
Adding a shortcut does not move the storage location of the document, nor does it change the permissions of the document.
Owner
The owner of a document, file, or folder.
Collaborator
Members who have view, edit, or manage permission for a document, file, or folder.
Collaborator permission
Docs and folders support 3 types of permissions: view, edit, manage.
View permission
  • Collaborators with view permission can only view documents and document content in folders.
  • Able to remove other collaborators with view permission.
Edit permission
  • Collaborators with edit permission can view and edit documents and document content in folders.
  • Able to modify and remove collaborators with view or edit permission.
Manage permission
  • Collaborators with manage permission can view and edit documents and documents in folders.
  • Able to modify and remove collaborators with view, edit, and manage permission.
  • Able to manage document permission settings.
  • If they aren't the document owner, collaborators with manage permission aren't allowed to transfer document ownership.
