I. Intro
Applicable Scope: Instructions in this article apply to all document types in Lark Docs, including Docs, Sheets, Base, Mindnotes, and uploaded files.
To ensure information security, a document's collaborators, link sharing settings, and permission settings align by default with those of the destination folder, My Document Library parent page, or wiki space parent page after the document is moved.
II. Troubleshooting
Issue
After a document is moved, the collaborator, link sharing, or permission settings are changed.
Cause and solution
By default, documents inherit the collaborators and permission settings of their parent folders, the parent pages of My Document Library, or the parent wiki pages. Therefore, if you move a document and change its parent, the settings will change accordingly.
Collaborator changes
There are two types of document collaborators:
- Collaborators of the folder, My Document Library parent page, wiki space parent page where the document is located are automatically added to the document as collaborators.
- Collaborators who are added to the document (including the owner).
After a document is moved, it will lose the first type of collaborators and inherit collaborators from the destination folder or parent page. You can go to the collaborator list and remove the collaborators inherited from the folder, the My Document Library parent page, or the wiki space parent page. For more information, see View the creator, owner, and collaborators of a document.

Link sharing changes
Since link sharing settings for the destination folders or parent pages may be different, link sharing settings may change after the document is moved.
For example, if the link sharing setting of the document is "People in the organization with the link can view", after you move it to a folder that "Anyone with the link can view", the link sharing setting of the document will be automatically updated to "Anyone with the link can view".
You can manually adjust the scope and permissions of link sharing. For more information, see Share your document through a link.
Permission changes
Since permission settings for the destination folders or parent pages may be different, permission settings may change after a document is moved.
For example, if the permission setting of a document is set to "Users with view permission can copy content", after moving to a folder that "Users with edit permission can copy content", the permission setting of the document will be automatically updated to "Users with edit permission can copy content".
You can manually adjust the permission settings, but only within the allowed scope of the folder, My Document Library parent page, wiki space parent page where the document is located, which means more strict permissions. If you need more flexible permission, contact users with manage permission to the folder or parent page for help.
Once you manually make any changes mentioned above, the collaborators, link sharing, and permission settings of the document won't follow the setting changes of the current parent folder, the My Document Library parent page, and the wiki space parent page again. And if you move the document in this state again, the document's settings will not align with the new parent folder or page.
