II. Steps
1. Switch to landscape mode
  • Depending on your device settings, there are two ways to switch to landscape mode when you rotate your phone horizontally.
  • Auto: If orientation lock on your phone (sometimes called "screen lock") is not enabled, then the document will automatically switch to landscape mode.
  • Manual: If orientation lock is enabled, the landscape mode icon will appear in the upper-left corner of the document when you rotate your phone horizontally. Simply tap this icon to switch to landscape mode.

III. FAQs
Why can't I view a document in landscape mode?
There are two likely reasons:
  1. Landscape mode is only available for Upgraded Docs. If your document was created a while ago, you may be using an older version. See How to tell whether a document is upgraded Docs or Docs 1.0.
  1. Check whether your phone is updated to iOS 16. Due to system requirements, phones running on iOS 16 only support auto-rotation, which means you won't be able to use landscape mode if orientation lock is on. Turn off orientation lock in your settings and rotate your phone to try again.
