View edit history in Slides

I. Intro

Who can operate: Users with editing permission can view and restore previous versions of slides.
You can access previous versions of your slides and track the edits made in the past. Whenever you or someone with editing permission modifies a slide, Lark saves a version of the slide and keeps a record of who made the changes, when they were made, and what specifically was modified. This allows you to restore content to a previous version or review the updates that have been made.
Note: This function is not supported on the mobile app.
II. Steps
View previous versions
Click the ··· More icon in the upper-right corner of a slide and then click Edit History. This will open a page where you can see all historical versions of the slides. All records are arranged in reverse chronological order and display who made the modifications and the time they did it.

Click a version on the right side of the page to see the content or details of the modifications made. If multiple modifications were made within a short period, these will be folded under the same editing time. You can view all the modifications under the same editing time by clicking the right arrow icon.
Turn on Show changes in the lower-right corner to view both the content and changes made on the slide. Turn off Show changes to only view the slide content, without seeing the changes made.

When viewing historical versions of the slides, select one and click Restore This Record > Restore. This will restore the slides to the historical version you selected.

III. FAQs
Who can view the historical versions?
Only users with editing permission (including the slide owner) can view and restore historical versions of slides.
Why can't I find the history entry for some slide files?
Only users with editing permission can view and restore historical versions. Therefore, if you only have viewing permission, you cannot perform these actions.
Are all changes in the slides recorded?
The following changes are recorded:
Changes that are recorded
Slide file: Creating slides, modifying slide size, restoring historical versions.
Slide page: Creating new slides, copying/pasting slides, deleting slides, adjusting slide order, setting/modifying slide backgrounds.
Slide elements: Adding, deleting, changing position/size/level/format, setting combinations, inserting objects (text, shape, image, media, table, diagram) content/format changes, and unlinking charts from data sources.
Changes that are not recorded
Other changes except for audio/video playback settings (automatic/click playback settings, audio loop playback settings, audio stops playing when switching slides), as well as modifications to the content of the source table for charts.
After version restoration, the deleted content has not been restored?
First, please confirm whether the historical version you chose to restore is accurate. If you choose to restore a historical version that appears as deleted, it will be restored to the version after this content was deleted; if you want to restore the version before deletion, please choose to restore an earlier historical version that deleted this record.
Why didn't deleted content reappear after I restored a historical version?
Please check whether you selected the correct historical version. If you notice that a collaborator has deleted something within a record and you want to restore the content to its state before the deletion, please select the version that comes before the deletion.
How can I delete the historical record?
You cannot delete historical records.
