Wiki and wiki space administrator FAQs

Wiki and wiki space administrator FAQs

3 min read
Frequently asked questions for Wiki and wiki space administrators.
How do I check who the Wiki administrators are?
Wiki administrators are usually assigned by primary administrators. Primary administrators can go to the Lark Admin Console > Settings > Administrator Permissions > Administrator Roles to view who the Wiki administrators are. If you're a member, you can contact an administrator for more information.
How do I check who the wiki space administrators are?
Wiki space administrators, wiki space members, and members with access permissions for the wiki space page can view the list of wiki space administrators.
  • If you're a wiki space administrator, click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the wiki space and click Members. You can find administrator information under Roles and permissions.

  • If you're a wiki space member or have access permissions for the wiki space page, click the Info icon in the lower-left corner to see who the wiki space administrators are.

Note: If you can't find the Info icon, it may be because a wiki space administrator has selected Only members in Security > Who can see the basic information in wiki space settings?. In this case, non-members won't be able to see the list of wiki space administrators.
How do I transfer Wiki content between two organizations?
There is no direct way to transfer between two organizations. You can first share a wiki space with external users, and then they can make copies in bulk.
How do I export content from Wiki?
You can't export all content from Wiki at once, but you can export pages from wiki spaces. For more details, see Download documents, files, or folders to your device.
Can I allow only certain users to view specific pages in Wiki?
There are three situations:
  • When the user is a wiki space administrator, they have manage permissions for all pages in the wiki space and can view all page contents. Their permissions can't be restricted.
  • When the user is a wiki space member, you can configure permissions for specific pages individually to restrict what they will be able to view by doing the following:
  1. On the wiki page, click Share in the upper-right corner, change the link sharing range to Restricted.
  1. Click the profile photos next to Invite collaborators and change the options for Wiki space editors and Wiki space viewers to No access.
  1. Click Add Collaborators and add members as page collaborators. Only these collaborators will be able to view the page content.

  • When the user is not a wiki space administrator or member, simply share the page with that user. The user will only be able to view the shared page and not other pages in the wiki space.
Who are the primary administrators?
There are two types of administrators in Lark Admin Console: Primary administrators and administrators. The primary administrator (including the organization founder) has all the permissions and can assign roles and permissions to administrators. If you're a regular member and need to contact an administrator, see Administrators and administrator roles.
Can I set different permissions for different sections in the table of contents of the same wiki space?
Yes. You can reset the parent page permissions to batch customize the permission scope of itself and its sub-pages. With different parent page permissions, each section can be open to different members as specified.
To reset the parent page permissions:
  1. Open a wiki space parent page, click Share in the upper-right corner, and change the link sharing range to Restricted.
  1. Click the profile photos next to Invite collaborators, and change the permissions of Wiki space viewers and Wiki space editors to No access.
  1. Click Add Collaborators, search for and add members, set permissions such as Can view, Can edit, or Can manage as needed, and select Allow access to sub-pages.
  1. Click Send or Done.
The parent page and its sub-pages then will only be accessible to the members you specified. You can assign different permissions to other parent pages so they are accessible to different members.
Note: Wiki space administrators can view all pages in the wiki space despite the settings of different parent pages.
