I. Intro
Docs is a word editor designed for online collaboration, enabling multiple people to view or make edits at the same time. It is packed with useful features and powerful tools to help bring out the best out of the whole team.
- Content is automatically saved to the cloud, eliminating the need to send files back and forth and the worry of forgetting to save.
- Draw team members' attention by @mentioning them and interact directly in the document by posting comments.
- Enrich your document with images, tables, videos, files, boards, callouts, code blocks, polls, and many many more.
- Use Markdown and shortcuts to give your productivity an instant boost.

III. Steps to collaborate in a document
Step 1: Create a document
You can create a new document or import and convert a local document into a Lark document.
Create a new document
On the Lark Docs homepage, click New > Docs, and select blank or a template.

Import a document
On the Lark Docs homepage, click Upload > Import as New Docs. Select the file format from which to import and select the file to import, and the file will be converted into a Lark document.

Step 2: Edit the document
Add headings
There are three ways to add headings:
Method 1: Type / at the beginning of any line or press Space and enter / anywhere in the text, then select a heading from the pop-up toolbar.

Method 2: Hover over the + icon on the left side of a blank line, and select a heading from the pop-up toolbar.

Method 3: Hover over the text, then hover over the ⋮⋮ icon that appears at the beginning of the line, and select a heading.

Insert a cover
You can add a cover to the document to give it a more polished look.
- Hover over the document title and click Add Cover to add a random cover.

- Hover over the cover and click Edit Cover > Select Image, then choose from over 60 high-quality images from the gallery or upload an image of your choice.

Insert elements
In any blank line, enter / or hover over the + icon on the left side of the blank line, then choose an element to insert.
A wide variety of elements can be added, from YouTube videos to polls to code blocks, so you don't have to just tell your audience your ideas, you can also show them.

Step 3: Share the document
Method 1: Invite collaborators
Click Share in the upper-right corner of the document, enter the name of the member you want to invite, and select a permission setting (view, edit, or manage).

Method 2: Share the link to a chat
Send the document link to a Lark chat and select view, edit, or manage to grant permission to your contact directly in the chat.

Step 4: Interact with collaborators
Let your collaborators know what to focus on by mentioning them or let them know your thoughts and ideas by adding comments, and liking the document.
- @Mentions: Type @Name to mention someone and send them a notification if needed.

- Comment: Select the content, then click the Comment icon to post a comment, which will be displayed on the right side of the document. You can also leave a comment at the bottom of the document.

- Like: Click the Thumbs up icon at the bottom to like the document.

Step 5: View document details and edit history

- Click the ··· More icon > Document Details to check: Document owner, creation time, word and character count, number of viewers, page views, likes, total comments, and view history.

View edit history
Click the ··· More icon > Edit History to check edits that have been made to the document. Edit records are sorted in reverse chronological order and show the editor and edit time.

Step 6: Translate the document
Don't let language barriers stop you from collaborating together. Simply click the ··· More icon > Translate into and select the target language to get the content and comments translated.

Step 7: Download the document
Click the ··· More icon > Download as and select Word or PDF.
