This article answers common questions about the organization data synchronization, or the directory synchronization between Lark and third-party tools.
What does the Data source field in the Departmet Details or the Member Details page mean?
It indicates that the object is managed by the corresponding data source. For example, if a member's Data source is "SCIM data source", their directory data mainly comes from a service provider through SCIM (Cross-domain Identity Management System) protocol. When the administrator modifies the member status in the SCIM data source (JumpCloud), the status of this member on Lark will change accordingly.
After turning on the JumpCloud directory sync, why does the Data source field display "SCIM data source"?
The directory sync feature uses the SCIM protocol to synchronize user data from JumpCloud to the Lark Admin Console. As an external configuration, the details of data source won't be sent to Lark, so it is marked as SCIM data source instead of the exact name of the service.
