I. Intro
Who can perform these steps: Primary administrators.
Anonymization is the process that removes information related to personal identity (such as name, phone number, and profile photo) to make sure that one can't trace the data back to a specific individual.
As an administrator, you can anonymize members who have been deleted for more than 30 days, so they can't be identified by personal information in Lark, protecting the privacy and data of the offboarded members.
II. Steps
- Open the Lark Admin Console and click Organization > Member and Department > Deleted Members.
- Click Details to the right of a member in the list to bring out the Termination details pane.
- 250px|700px|reset
- Click Anonymize, which is greyed out if the member hasn't been deleted for over 30 days.
- Read the information in the pop-up, confirm you've read the warning, and click Anonymize.
- Important:
- The anonymization process can't be terminated once it starts.
- Before you anonymize a member, make sure you've relocated the resources, permissions, logs, and other data of them. After the member is anonymized, Lark won't be able to recognize them.

- Verify your administrator identity to continue. It takes some time to complete the anonymization process.
III. About the anonymization results
The following table explains what actions are taken by anonymizing an offboarded member that has been deleted for more than 30 days.
Anonymizing a member impacts the data in Lark in several ways. For example, if Jane Doe is anonymized:
- Profile page: Jane's profile page won't show specific information. Others can only identify Jane by adding an alias to her profile page from the history chat.
- Messenger: Others can't find anything by searching "Jane Doe" in chat histories.
- Audits: The administrator can't query the historical activities and content by looking for "Jane Doe" in activity auditing and content auditing.
- Others: In collaborations such as in Docs, Tasks, and Minutes, the anonymized name and profile photo are displayed instead of "Jane Doe" and her photo. For example, Jane's comments in documents are no longer relatable to her.
