Migrate emails (for Tencent Enterprise Mail users)

I. Intro
Once an administrator enables the email migration service for members, organization members need to complete related settings on their original email platform to ensure successful migration to Lark Mail.
II. Steps
  1. Log in to Lark and check Mail Assistant's notification.

2. Check whether IMAP service is enabled on Tencent Enterprise Mail
2.1 Log in to Tencent Enterprise Mail, and then click Set > Email Sending and Receiving Settings.

2.2 Select the following options:
  • Enable iMAP/SMTP Service
  • Receive Emails in My Folders
  • Save sent emails to server

2.3 Click Save Changes.

3. Configure the Collect All E-mail setting
3.1 Log into Tencent Enterprise Mail, and then click Set > Email Sending and Receiving Settings.

3.2 For the Collect E-mail drop-down list, select All, and select the following options:
  • Receive Emails in My Folders
  • Save sent emails to server

3.3 Click Save Changes.

4. Enable secure login and receive a password
4.1 Log in to Tencent Enterprise Mail, and then click Set > EmailLink > Enable secure login.

4.2 Navigate to the bottom of the page, and click Save Changes. Then, scan the QR code to log in to your email again.

4.3 Make sure Secure Settings is set to Disable secure login, then click Set > EmailLink > Generate New Password. Copy the generated password, and log in to Lark to verify.

5. Migrate your Tencent Enterprise Mail emails to Lark
5.1 Open your Lark desktop app and click Email on the navigation bar.
Note: If you can't find Email on the navigation bar, try the following steps: 1. Restart Lark (Click Settings > Internal Settings > Get configuration). 2. Keep the Lark app open for 1 minute. 3. Restart Lark again.

5.2 Enter your Tencent Enterprise Mail account and password, and then click Start Migration.
Note: If a message displays that indicates an incorrect password has been entered, refer to the instructions above and check whether the password you entered is the one generated by Tencent Enterprise Mail with the Secure Settings set to Enable secure login.

5.3 After you start the migration process, you can check migration progress in Lark Mail. When the process is done, you will see an Email migration completed message.

III. FAQs
If I turn off the computer after the migration process starts, will it effect migration?
No. The migration process will not be impacted.
The progress bar barely moves after the email migration process starts. Did something go wrong?
A lot of data needs to be processed at the beginning, so it's normal for the progress bar to move slowly at first.
Only emails received within the last 30 days migrated successfully. Why is this?
This could be because you didn't set the Collect E-mail setting to All in Tencent Enterprise Mail > Set > Email Sending and Receiving Settings > Receiving Options. You can go back to Tencent Enterprise Mail to make the adjustment, then wait for about an hour, and the rest of your email should be successfully migrated to Lark Mail.
I already started the migration process but didn't set to Collect All E-mail in Tencent Enterprise Mail's Receiving Options. What should I do?

I didn't receive Mail Assistant's notification in Lark, what should I do?
Check if you received the email in Tencent Enterprise Mail. If you received the email in Tencent Enterprise Mail but not in Lark, please reach out to related members from the Lark Mail team. If you didn't receive an email at all on both platforms, contact an administrator to reach out to Tencent Enterprise Mail.
Why can't I find where to access Email on my mobile app?
This could be due to password issues. If you have changed your password on Tencent Enterprise Mail, you need to go to the Lark desktop app, and then enter your account and password again to restore the migration process.
Can I migrate my email receiving settings as well?
This feature is currently unavailable, you need to set it again in Lark Mail.
Can I migrate contacts?
This feature is currently unavailable but you can import contacts in Lark Mail.
Folders within my Tencent Enterprise Mail were not migrated to Folder in Lark Mail. Why is this?
Folders migrated from Tencent Enterprise Mail will currently appear in Label in Lark Mail. Features are still being optimized; please stay tuned.
