I. Intro
You can initiate and join calls and meetings in various ways, allowing you the flexibility to collaborate in the way you prefer.
II. Steps
You must grant Lark permission to access your microphone and camera the first time you initiate or join a call or video meeting.
Initiate a one-on-one call
🔖
Notice:
  • Users on Lark Starter and Basic plans can make one-on-one voice calls, but can't share screens, record calls, enable subtitles, or invite others to the voice call; and they can't make video calls.
You can initiate a one-on-one call in two ways.
Note: If more users are invited to a one-on-one call, the call will automatically be converted to a video meeting, and the user who initiated the call becomes the host.
  • From the private chat: Click the icon in the upper-right corner to initiate a voice call, a phone call, or a video call.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  • Note: If it's a group chat, you will initiate a multi-person video meeting.
  • From one's profile: Click Voice Call or Video Call.

Join a meeting
You can join a meeting in five ways. If you're the first to join a meeting, you'll initiate the meeting instead. It's possible that you can't join a meeting before the organizer initiates it, depending on the meeting settings.
Note: If you need to share the meeting access information, click the Copy joining info icon on the meeting card. They can then follow the following steps to join the meeting. The meeting info includes:
  • Meeting topic
  • Meeting time
  • Meeting ID
  • Meeting link

III. FAQs
How can I set mute and camera off as default?
  • To automatically mute yourself:
  1. Click Meetings > Settings > Audio.
  1. Deselect Turn on microphone when I join a meeting.
  • To automatically turn off your camera:
  1. Click Meetings > Settings > Video.
  1. Deselect Turn on camera when I join a meeting.
How can I get the meeting ID in advance?
When you set up a meeting in Lark Calendar, you can click the event card to see the meeting ID. The meeting ID is the last 9 digits of the video meeting link.
If I change the time of a recurring event, will the system allocate a new meeting link?
All events under a recurring event use the same meeting link and meeting ID.
Can I participate in multiple video meetings at the same time?
Each device can only join one meeting at a time. If you need to join more than one meeting simultaneously, you should log in to multiple devices and use each one to join a different meeting.
I am already in a meeting. Can I refuse when I'm invited to other meetings?
Yes. Click Deny in the calling pop-up. You can choose to send a quick note to the inviter as well.
Why can't I initiate meetings on the desktop app?
If you encounter issues such as the app crashing when initiating meetings on the desktop app, try restarting your device and initiating the meeting again.
If you're using a device with Windows Server 2019 and there is no response after you click Start Video Meeting, we recommend installing WLAN, then restart the device and re-initiate the meeting.
Can a user without a Lark account initiate a meeting?
No. You can only initiate meetings after logging in to your Lark account.
Can I join a meeting without a Lark account?
Whether you can join a meeting without a Lark account depends on the configuration of the organization administrator. If the administrator turns on Allow anonymous guest users to join meetings in the Lark Admin Console > Product Settings > Video Meetings > Meeting Settings, you can join the meeting without logging in. If the administrator has not turned on this function, you must log in to your Lark account to join the meeting. To learn more, see Join a video meeting through your web browser.
How do I invite people to join a video meeting during the meeting?
There're two ways to do it:
  • Click the Participants icon in the bottom toolbar, then search for contacts under Participants and click Invite. You can also click the Suggestions tab to select people that received the invitation but haven't joined.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  • Click the Share to chat icon at the top of the meeting interface.
