III. FAQs
After I edit a sent message, will it be sent again?
No, it won't. After the message is edited, members of the chat will not receive a new message notification.
Why can't I edit a message?
This could be due to the following reasons:
  • An administrator did not enable the function in the Lark Admin Console.
  • The time window to edit the message has passed.
  • The message was not sent by you.
  • The message type cannot be edited.
What message types can you edit?
You can edit plain text and rich text messages.
If I didn't make any changes to the message after selecting 'Edit Message', will it still be marked as 'Edited' after I click 'Save'?
No, it won't.
Can I see what someone sent before they edited it?
No.
What's the difference between 'Edit Message' and 'Recall'?
When you click Edit Message, you can make changes to the original message without sending it again. The message is marked as Edited. When you click Recall, the message is recalled. After you recall a message, the original location of the message will say that the message was recalled.
