The following best practices can smoothen external communications whilst minimizing the need to switch between different collaboration platforms and tools.
Add external contacts
Friction-less external communications
Keep in touch with contacts outside of your organization by inviting them to use Lark. External contacts can be added through a phone number, email address, invite link, or QR code.
If multiple people are required to stay in the loop, create an external group to facilitate communication between external contacts and internal team members.

Note: The other party will also need to download and sign up for Lark before they can communicate with you.
Enable external document permissions
Easy sharing and collaborating
When you need to share materials with people outside your team, click Share to access link sharing and choose Anyone with the link can view. Beyond view permission, edit permission can also be granted to allow external collaborators to contribute to the document directly.

Add external assignees to tasks
Don't let the work fall through the cracks
External contacts can also be added as task assignees or followers when new tasks are created or edited.

- Adding someone as an assignee: The person will be able to track the progress of the task and edit its contents including assignees, deadlines, and followers.
- Adding someone as a follower: The person will only be able to track the progress of the task. They won't be able to edit any information, and they won't be able to click Complete. The person will also be free to unfollow the task.
By using Lark, sharing documents, collaborating, and tracking the progress of each project with external contacts is a breeze.
