If there's one thing guaranteed to make anyone groan, it's the thought of yet another unproductive meeting. So, what can we do to make meetings more effective?
Learn how you can use online documents and video meetings to hold a "silent reading session" at the start of a meeting, which allows participants to catch up on and understand important details prior to discussion.
Stage 1: Preparation
- Use Lark Calendar to invite attendees, and prepare all meeting-related documents in advance.

Stage 2: Silent reading – Comment – Discussion
- Silent reading: Give attendees 15 minutes to read the meeting documents by themselves in silence.
- Comment: Ask attendees to comment on anything they are unsure about and would like to talk about.
- Discuss: Go through the comments together, and either answer the questions raised during the meeting or identify solutions.

Stage 3: After the meeting
- Identify tasks and deadlines in the documents, and @mention the owners of action items.
- Ask action item owners to update the document as and when they have completed their respective tasks.
