5 min read
I. Intro
🔖
Who can perform these steps: Primary administrators or administrators with Workplace or Custom Workplace permissions.
The My Favorites block in Custom Workplace now supports adding two modules: My Favorites and Recently Used. Administrators can enable both or either of the modules based on their organization's needs. To learn how to select official blocks, see Checklist for building a Custom Workplace.
Note: Blocks are a feature within Custom Workplace. Confirm Custom Workplace is available on your Lark plan before following the steps in this article.
Module
Description
My Favorites
Add frequently used apps or links for quick access.
  • Ordinary members can manually add their frequently used apps or links (only base links are supported) to Workplace. The added apps or links are only effective for the members themselves and can be removed at any time.
  • Administrators can add recommended apps or links to member's Workplace in the admin console, and set them to take effect for specific departments or members. These apps and links can only be removed by administrators (cannot be removed by ordinary members).
Recently Used
Automatically displays the user's recently used applications or links without the need for manual configuration.
  • Administrators can set the maximum number of applications displayed in the Recently Used module, with a default value of 12.
  • Supports displaying recently used gadgets, web applications, as well as bots and web links opened in Workplace.
Note: The Frequently Used module does not support displaying app blocks and is only available on Lark apps version 6.5 and above.
II. Steps
  1. Administrator: Set the My Favorites block
Administrators can add the My Favorites block in the Workplace editor, and adjust its icon spacing on the right hand side under Custom settings.
Note: The My Favorites block can only be added to single-column or full-width layouts.

In the Content settings page, click Configure to set the content of the block, which will take effect for all Workplaces within the organization.

Administrators can also click Block Settings in the upper right corner of Workplace to set the block's content.

1.1 Select modules and set the default landing tab
Select the Modules to be displayed in the My Favorites block. If both modules are selected, they will be displayed as tabs within the block. You can also set the Default landing tab, which will be the default module shown when opening Workplace.

1.2 Configure the My Favorites module
If the My Favorites module is selected, administrators can set the module's name, icon, and add recommended apps or links underneath.
250px|700px|reset
Click Add Rule and jump to the Admin's Pick page. Administrators can recommend apps or links. These apps or lins will be added to members' Workplace and can only be removed by an administrator. Administrators can also specify which departments or members will be given the app or link recommendations.
  • Recommendation Note: Only visible to administrators to help them distinguish between different rules.
  • Department: Select departments or members to which recommended apps and links are promoted. Administrators can configure recommended apps for dynamic user groups. Dynamic user groups are groups whose members change dynamically based on specific criteria. For example, for an intern dynamic group, interns who just joined the organization will automatically join the group, and they will automatically leave the group when they become regular employees.
  • Admin-Picked Apps/Links: Select one or more apps or add links (such as base links) and set a link name, URL, and icon. Pay attention to the order of apps and links, as they will be displayed in this order.

Administrators can also manage existing recommendation rules:
  • Turn on/off: Click the switch to turn a rule on and off. Recommendation rules that are turned off won't be displayed.
  • Delete: Hover over the recommendation rule to bring up the Delete icon, and click it to delete the rule.
  • Sort: Click and drag the Sort icon to rearrange the rules.
How the rules work:
  • The same groups and apps can have multiple rules.
  • Rules with a higher priority will be displayed first.
  • App recommendations refresh based on the combinations of different rules.

1.3 Configure the Recently Used module
If the Recently Used module is selected, administrators can set the module's name, icon, and the maximum number of apps/links to be displayed (the default value is 12). The system will display the user's recently used apps or links in a reversed chronological order, with the latest in front.
Note: The Frequently Used module supports displaying recently used gadgets, web applications, as well as bots and web links opened in Workplace, does not support displaying app blocks, and is only available on Lark apps version 6.5 or above.

2.2 Add/remove/share links
Only Base links are supported.
Open a Base file within the organization, and click the ··· More icon in the upper-right corner > Add to Workplace to add its link to Workplace. Members will then be able to obtain, share, or delete the link in My favorites at any time.
Note: The link will only be added to the member's own Workplace, and deleting it from Workplace will only delete the link, not the original Base file. Base links are supported on Lark mobile version 5.30 or above.
