Recover an account

I. Intro
If you cannot log in to your Lark account because you've forgotten your password or you don't receive your verification code, you can follow the steps in this article to recover the account. After recovering your account, you'll be able to log in.
If you have registered multiple accounts using the same phone number or email, you can recover only one account at a time.
II. Steps
Follow the steps in one of the following sections depending on your scenario.
If you've forgotten your account password
If you have forgotten your account password but are still able to receive a verification code on your phone or email, follow these steps to reset your password and recover your account:
  1. Enter your phone number or email on the login page and tap Next.

  1. Complete one of the following steps:
  • If you see the Enter Phone Number Verification Code page, tap Log in with password. Then, tap Reset it now and enter the verification code that you receive.
  • If you see the Enter your password page, tap Reset it now. Then, enter the verification code that you receive.

  1. Select the account for which you need to reset the password, and then set another password. You can then enter the account and complete account recovery.

If you are unable to receive a verification code
If you cannot receive a verification code through the phone number or email associated with your account, follow these steps to bind a new phone number or email to the account and recover the account:

  1. On the login page, enter the email or phone number that was originally bound to the account, and then tap Next.

  1. Complete one of the following steps:
  • If you see the Enter Phone Number Verification Code page, tap Recover account.
  • If you see the Enter your password page, tap Log in with verification code. Then, tap Recover account.

  1. On the account appeal page, enter information as needed, and then tap Submit Appeal.

  1. After the account appeal is reviewed, you will receive a text message or email notifying you of the appeal result. Follow the instructions in the notification to reset the phone number or email that you use for login.
III. FAQs
I have registered multiple accounts with the same phone number or email. Can I recover multiple accounts simultaneously?
No, you can't. Only one account can be recovered at a time.
How long does it generally take to receive my appeal result?
You will usually receive the appeal result in a text message or email within 1~2 business days after you submit the appeal. In case of force majeure, it may need more time.
After submitting an account appeal, can I recall and resubmit an appeal if I find that the filled information is incorrect?
Yes. After submitting an account appeal, you will receive an email notification or a text message of successful submission (depending on the contact information you provided). You can open the cancellation link on the notification to cancel the current appeal. If necessary, you can resubmit a new appeal.
What should I do if my account appeal fails?
Refer to the following content.
  1. Check whether the appeal information your provided is detailed and accurate. You can resubmit the appeal with additional details. For example: Describe in detail the problems you encountered in Appeal details, and add more ID proof in Add government issued ID or employee ID.
  • Note: If your appeal fails because your account has been banned, you also need to check whether your account complies with the User Service Terms and the Lark Usage Policy, and check whether there is any risky content in the public documents under your account.
  1. If the appeal still fails, you can contact Support for further assistance. If you cannot access Lark, you can go to the Lark official website, find the Headphone icon to contact Support.
Can I recover my account after it has been deleted?
No, you can't. Deleted accounts cannot be restored or recovered.
If the login credential I used for account recovery is a phone number, can I set an email when resetting my login credentials during account recovery, or vice versa?
No, you can't. The login credential type that is reset during account recovery must be the same as the login credential type that was used before. For example, if a phone number was previously used as the login credential, then the login credential that is reset during account retrieval can only be a phone number. Similarly, if the account previously used an email as the login credential, then the login credential that is reset during account retrieval can only be an email.
Can I use a new phone number or email to log in to an account that was registered with my previous phone number or email?
Yes, you can. Complete the steps in the "If you are unable to receive a verification code" section above to set a new phone number or email for your account. Then, you can use a new phone number or email to log in to the account that was originally registered with your previous phone number or email.
