I. Intro
Two-step verification is a process that requires two verification methods.
  • Two-step verification for individuals: You can set up a different two-step verification for each of your accounts. Changing the two-step verification setting of an account will not affect the two-step verification settings of your other accounts. Once you turn on two-step verification, you'll have to complete both verification methods to log in to or switch to that account. If you don't need two-step verification, you can turn it off at any time.
  • Two-step verification for organizations: Organization administrators can turn on two-step verification for all members in the organization. Once they do this, all members of the organization will have to complete both verification methods to log in to or switch to the organization. If two-step verification is not needed, administrators can turn it off in the Lark Admin Console.
Note: This article describes only how individuals can use two-step verification. If you're an administrator who wants to turn on two-step verification for all members in your organization, see Admin | Turn on two-step verification for organization members.
II. Steps
Turn two-step verification on
In the Lark app, click your profile photo, and then click Settings > Account and Security > Go to Account Security Center. Then, turn the Two-Step Verification toggle on, and enter your password and the verification code to enable this function.
Notes:
  • You must set a password before you can enable two-step verification.
  • When you enable two-step verification, you can simultaneously set a backup verification method. For more information, see Backup verification.

Notice: If your account is already bound to a Lark organization email, you enable two-step verification, and password verification is used as the first step of the verification process, a method besides organization email verification must be used as the second step of the verification process. (This includes backup verification.) Therefore, it's recommended you enable backup verification to ensure that you can log in if your second verification method fails.

Why can't I find the two-step verification option in the Account Security Center?
If you haven't yet set a password for your account, the Two-Step Verification option may not be displayed in the Account Security Center. After you set a password in the Account Security Center and restart Lark, this option will be displayed.
I signed up for multiple accounts with the same phone number. Can I configure different two-step verification settings for each account?
Yes, you can. You can configure two-step verification settings separately for each of your accounts. Changing the configuration of one account won't affect your other accounts.
How will I be affected after the organization turns on two-step verification?
Once the organization turns on two-step verification, you'll have to complete both steps of the verification process when you log in to or switch to the organization, regardless of whether you individually set up two-step verification for your account with this organization.
Note: This restriction applies only to your account with this organization. Your other accounts will not be affected.
Will I still be able to change my password or registered number/email after my organization enables two-step verification?
Yes, you can. After your organization has enabled two-step verification, if you want to change or reset your password, see Set or change your login password. If you want to change your login number or email, see Manage Lark login method and contact information.
Note: These changes will apply only to your account with this organization. Your other accounts will not be affected.
Can I enable two-step verification myself after my organization has already turned on this feature?
After your organization enables two-step verification, two-step verification will become mandatory, and you will not be able to turn this feature off and back on. However, if your organization has turned off two-step verification, you can go to the Account Security Center to enable it manually.
Note: If your organization enables two-step verification, it will apply only to your account with this organization. Your other accounts will not be affected.
