Deploy Lark by using Microsoft Installer

Deploy Lark by using Microsoft Installer

1 min read
I. Intro
Lark comes with an MSI installer (hereinafter referred to as "this tool"), which can be used to batch deploy Lark to multiple Windows devices. Organization IT administrators can use this tool to deploy Lark. Once the deployment is complete, organization members can use Lark immediately after they log in to their Windows accounts.
Installation tips
  • This tool works for systems running the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows 7 or above.
  • Administrator permissions are required to deploy this tool.
  • After this tool is deployed, Lark will be automatically installed and started the next time the target user logs in to Windows.
  • Uninstalling this tool will not uninstall Lark. After this tool is uninstalled, Lark will not be automatically installed for users who have not yet had them installed.
II. Steps
Custom parameter
  • Specify Lark path
If you specify DEPLOY_DIR="[Lark path]" in the installation command, Lark will be installed to the specified path (if you have read/write access to this path as a general user).
  • Output installation logs
If you specify /l*V "[Logs path]" in the installation command, you can save the detailed installation logs for troubleshooting. (A log file must already exist.)

Update Lark
The Lark team will update the MSI installer on a regular basis. IT administrators can redeploy the MSI installer to batch update Lark. Organization members can also update Lark themselves within the app if they would like to try out the latest features earlier.
