3 min read
I. Intro
In Lark, deleting an account typically includes the following scenarios. You can follow the instructions below based on your specific needs.
Scenario 1: Delete an entire organization.
Scenario 2: Delete a Lark account, including:
  • Delete your personal account.
💡
Important: After deletion, the corresponding account will no longer be available, and all data associated with the account will be cleared.
II. Steps
Delete the entire organization
🔖
Notice: Only the organization founder can perform this action.
Use cases:
Use case 1: You are the founder of the organization and no longer need the organization.
Use case 2: The organization was created accidentally.
If you need to delete the entire organization, you can go to the Lark Admin Console to perform actions to disband the organization. After disbanding, the organization and the accounts under the organization will be cleared.
  1. Open the Lark Admin Console, then select Settings > Organization Info > Organization Info.
  1. At the bottom of the page, click Disband Organization. The disbanding will take effect after 72 hours.
For more information, see Admin | Founder disbands an organization.

Delete a Lark account
Use cases:
Use case 1: You are the founder of the organization and only want to delete your own Lark account without disbanding the entire organization.
Use case 2: You are an organization member or administrator and have left the organization, but the administrator has not deleted your account.
Use case 3: You have accidentally joined an organization.
Use case 4: You are a Lark personal user and want to delete your personal account.
Deleting a Lark account includes deleting your account under a certain organization (that is, leaving the organization, such as in Use cases 1, 2, and 3 above), or deleting your personal account (such as in Use case 4 above).
After deletion, the current account will no longer be available, and the data associated with this account will be transferred or deleted. If you have other accounts at the same time (for example, you have joined multiple organizations), the other accounts will not be affected.

Note: If you don't know who the organization's administrator is, you can find the administrator through the following methods:
  • Ask other members of your organization, such as IT department staff or your manager to find the organization's administrator.
  • Open the Lark Admin Console link on the Lark desktop app where you can see the administrator information on the welcome page.
For more information about the above two methods, see Leave an organization.
III. FAQs
Why was my account deleted without me deleting it?
It may be because the administrator of your organization has deleted your account. Contact your organization's administrator for clarification.
I am a member of the organization. Why can't I delete my account in the Account Security Center?
It might be caused by the following reasons:
  • Abnormal account conditions: If your account is frozen, banned, or suspended, self-deletion is not supported. You need to contact the organization's administrator to delete you from the organization.
  • You are the founder of the organization: You need to first transfer your founder identity to another member, and then delete the account by yourself in the Account Security Center, or contact the organization's administrator to delete you from the organization.
  • Other issues: You need to contact the organization's administrator to delete you from the organization.
If I accidentally deleted my Lark account, can it be restored?
Refer to the following content.
  • If you accidentally deleted your account under an organization (that is, accidentally left the organization): The organization administrator can restore your account in the Lark Admin Console within 30 days. However, note that some resources and data associated with this account will not be recoverable. For more information, see Admin | Restore accidentally deleted members.
  • Note: If more than 30 days have passed, restoration will not be possible.
  • If you accidentally deleted your personal account: Restoration is not possible.
If I cannot log in to my account because I forgot my password or did not receive the verification code, how can I delete my account?
Refer to the following content.
Method 1: First, try to log in to your account by recovering an account, and then delete your account after logging in.
Method 2 (only applicable to deleting an account under an organization and not applicable to deleting a personal account): Contact the organization administrator, and the administrator will delete your account in the Lark Admin Console.
If I signed up for multiple accounts using the same email address or phone number, can I delete all accounts at the same time?
No, accounts must be deleted individually. It is not possible to delete all accounts at the same time.
Can I clear the account data and restore the account to its initial state without deleting the account?
No. If needed, you can sign up for a new account.
After deleting the account, can I use the email address or mobile phone number bound to the account to sign up for a new account?
Yes.
