I. Intro
You can use a timeline to visualize a development process, project milestones, and more. You can edit the nodes on the timeline and flexibly change the layout and amount of details shown as needed.
This add-on is useful for a variety of roles and scenarios:
II. Steps
Insert the add-on
There are two ways to add the Timeline add-on to a document:
Method 1: Hover over a blank space in the document, hover over the + icon that appears on the left, and select Timeline.

Method 2: Enter / on a blank line or enter a space followed by / on a line with text, and select Timeline from the pop-up toolbar. You can also directly type Timeline after entering / to select it.

Edit the add-on
- Edit node information: Each time point on the timeline is a node. Click the node to enter the name, description, and time.
- Add node: Hover around a node, then click the icon to add a node.

- Delete node: Hover over the node, then click the Trash can icon.

- Add comment inside the add-on: Click Add Comment in the upper-right corner of the add-on and click the location to which you want to add a comment.

- Adjust layout: Click the Layout icon in the upper-right corner of the add-on to adjust the layout style of the nodes. You can choose to arrange the timeline horizontally or vertically.

- Hide node information: Click the icon in the upper-right corner to set whether to display the Name, Description, Time, and Comments.

Other actions
You can perform the following actions after selecting the add-on:
- Click the corresponding buttons in the toolbar that appears at the top of the add-on to Copy Link, Share Link, and Comment on the add-on as a whole.

- You can also hover over the ⋮⋮ button that appears in the upper-left corner of the add-on, then select Align and Indent, Cut, Copy, Delete, or Save to My Templates as needed.
