I. Issue
In this article, we will introduce troubleshooting steps for situations where message notifications are not appearing or notification sounds are not playing in Lark.
II. Solutions
Check message notification settings
- Click your profile photo in the upper-left corner of the Lark app. Click Settings > Notifications. Check whether All new messages is selected.
- If All new messages is deselected, you may need to check whether notifications for Buzz messages, @Me messages, @All messages, Private messages, and Messages from starred contacts are turned on.

Check sound settings for message notifications
Click your profile photo in the upper-left corner of the Lark app. Click Settings > Notifications. Check whether Notification sound is selected.
Check if your status is "Do not disturb"
Locate your profile photo in the upper-left corner of the Lark app to see whether your status is set as Do not disturb. If you have selected this status, a Do not disturb icon will appear next to your profile photo. Message notifications will be muted when this status is on.
To turn off this status, click the Do not disturb icon, and then click Do not disturb under My Status. Message notifications will no longer be muted.
