I. Intro
Tasks can be created in various ways. You can create tasks in Lark Tasks, Messenger, or Docs, setting details such as task content, deadlines, reminders, grouping, and sub-tasks. You can also assign tasks to yourself or others.
Additionally, you can convert one or more messages from a chat into tasks, or quickly turn the content of an email into a task.
II. Steps
Create tasks in Tasks
  1. Click Tasks in the left navigation bar of the Lark desktop app to open Tasks. There are three ways to create tasks:
  • Method 1: On the Owned page, click New Task in the upper-left corner.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  • Method 2: Hover over New Task in the upper-right corner and select New Task.
  • Note: You cannot perform this method on the Activities page or in an open task list.

  1. When creating a task, you can set the following details in sequence:
  • Task title: We recommend you create a summary of the task.
  • Task owner: Assign owners for tasks and their sub-tasks. You can add multiple owners for a task and set whether the task needs to be completed by one or all owners.
  • Task grouping: Add a task you own to an existing or new group (or section) for easier management.
  • Due date and time: Click Today, Tomorrow, or Other to quickly set a deadline for the task. If you need to set a specific time, click the task's due date, select Add time, and modify as needed.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  • Reminder If the task has a specific due time set, the reminder time defaults to 30 minutes before the task's due time. If only the due date is set, the reminder time defaults to 6:00 PM on the due date. Click the current reminder time to modify it.

  • Recurring task: Set a recurring cycle for the task. For example, you can set the task to reopen on a monthly basis if the same task needs to be completed each month.
  • Task list: Add tasks to an existing or new task list to facilitate collaboration.
  • Task description: Add relevant information about the task.
  • Sub-tasks: Add multiple sub-tasks to a larger task to make it easier to manage and track task progress.
  • Attachment: Upload attachments to make task information more detailed.
  • Subscribers: Add members who need to know about the progress of the task. These subscribers will receive notifications when the task is completed.
  1. After filling in the task information, click Create. The task is now visible in Tasks.
