I. Intro
Applicable scope: Instructions in this article apply to Docs, Sheets, Base, and MindNotes. Docs is used as an example in this article.
You can convert documents in Docs, Sheets, Base, and MindNotes format into custom templates. You can then find these templates in the template gallery and share them with others.
II. Steps
Convert your document into a template
You can convert your document into a template using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Open the document, click the ··· More icon in the upper-right corner, and turn on Convert to Template. A confirmation message will appear, and a Template label will be added to the document header.
Note: After converting a document to a template, the original document becomes the template. Any modifications made to the original document will directly update the template.

Method 2: On the Lark Docs homepage, click Templates > My Templates to open the My Templates window, and then click New Template in the window.

Find the document you want to save as a template, and click Save as Template > Save.
Note: The original document and the newly created template are two separate files. Any updates made to the original document will not apply to the template. To modify the template, edit it directly in "My Templates" of the template gallery.

Method 3: If you have the permission to "Make a Copy" of another user's documents, you can save it as your own template. Open the document, Click the ··· More icon in the upper-right corner, select Save to My Templates, and click Save in the pop-up window.
Note: The original document and the newly created template document are two separate files. Any updates made to the original document will not apply to the template. To modify the template, edit it directly in "My Templates" of the template gallery.

Manage custom templates
- My Templates: The custom templates you saved.
- Shared With Me: The custom templates shared with you by others.

On the "My Templates" page, you can preview and use custom templates, and you can also share, edit, or delete custom templates.
Note: If you saved the link to the template document, you can directly open the template document to share or edit it.

Use a custom template
There are two ways to use custom templates:
Method 1: In the template document, click Use This Template to create a new document using this template.

Method 2: On the Lark Docs homepage, click Templates in the upper-right corner. On the "My Templates" window, hover over the corresponding template and click Use.
