III. FAQs
Who can participate in polls inserted into Docs?
Users with view and edit permissions can participate in polls.
Note: If Anyone with the link can view/edit is turned on, guest users can also vote.
Can I change poll settings after it's published?
Only the deadline can be modified once a poll is published. Other settings cannot be modified. If you want to modify a published poll without any votes cast yet, you can copy and paste it to create a new poll with the same title and options, then delete the original poll.
Can I change or cancel my selection in polls inserted into Docs?
Yes. Re-click the option you chose to cancel your selection.
Why can I change votes in some polls inserted into Docs and can't do the same in others?
Polls in the old version of Docs support changing votes while polls in Upgraded Docs do not.
When downloading a document, how are the inserted poll results displayed?
If the document is downloaded as a Word file, the poll results can be displayed in a table format. If the document is downloaded as a PDF while voting is still open, only an image of the voting page will be shown, and not the poll results. If voting has closed, poll results will be displayed as an image. If the document is downloaded as an image from the mobile app, the poll results can be displayed as an image.
Can I add images to the options in polls inserted in Docs?
No. If you need images for your poll, you can insert and number the images in the document, and then use those numbers as options in your poll.
