Lark released some new features to help improve online collaboration for teams! Now in Lark, you are able to further streamline collaboration with both your own team members and those external to your organization. We provide more ways to work with your external partners, flexible options for meeting with others, and more tricks to help keep teams on track.
1. 🤝 Collaborate with external partners using new automated workflows

If you are working with a partner outside of your company and looking to streamline collaboration, now it's possible through Base's new automated workflow. On top of using Base to manage your projects with partners, you can now send messages automatically to external contacts or group chats where your external partners are included.
In Base, you can choose how you'd like the message to be triggered, such as a change in project records, a scheduled time slot, and more, and then decide what message you want to send to your external partners. In addition, you can also send a preview of the message to ensure accuracy before enabling the workflow.
Whether it is a project with your agency to produce new videos, working with a construction vendor to revamp a property, or coordinating a brand launch with a client of yours, this new automated workflow reduces the grunt work and helps teams on both sides stay updated on projects.
2. ⏰ Schedule messages to be sent later

Say goodbye to sending out messages during your PTO, disturbing your colleagues' zen moments, or worrying about communicating with global teams across various time zones anymore. That's why we created a new feature to help you send and receive messages at a time suitable for everyone. Introducing Schedule Messages where you can compose your messages in advance and schedule them to be sent at a later time.
Scheduling messages increases the likelihood that your messages will be seen and responded to promptly. You can draft up messages within your own work day and schedule them to be sent during your global coworkers' hours. By scheduling messages, you respect both you and your coworkers' schedules, deliver messages at the right time, and efficiently pass the 'baton' of work next to your global coworker. Scheduling messages = healthy asynchronous communication and a successful relay race!
3. 💻 Start a Zoom meeting from your Lark Calendar

Have you ever been in a situation where your stakeholders are on Zoom when you're using a different meeting platform? Whether you're trying to pitch to prospects, work with an external consulting agency, or talk to customers who only use Zoom, fret no more. With the latest update, you can now link your Zoom account to Lark and seamlessly connect with more stakeholders.
Starting a Zoom meeting is now just a single click away on Lark Calendar - when scheduling a meeting, you will now see the option to select 'Zoom Meeting' under the video meeting dropdown. Meeting details will automatically be created and displayed for easy access. By using our new integration to communicate with stakeholders who still use Zoom, you can now focus your time on developing meaningful and effective conversations that drive progress for both parties.
4. 🔦 Focus discussions around comments through Spotlight Mode

It's not easy presenting docs with a sea of comments in online group meetings. Lark's new feature, Spotlight Mode, allows you to highlight only one comment at a time in a shared document while presenting, so you can spend more time easily directing the conversation, focusing on meaningful discussions, and leading more efficient meetings.
With Spotlight Mode, presenters can choose which comment to focus on, easily switch between various comments, and click "Next" to view comments in consecutive order. During your presentation, all participants are always in sync and will see only the comment you're spotlighting. When passing presenters, the other presenters will still be in Spotlight Mode as well to keep the conversation going.
Next time you're presenting a heavily commented doc like a V1 writeup or brainstorm doc, there's no need to waste time anymore searching through a flood of comments. Spotlight mode is here to help you and your team drive efficient meetings.
5. 📝 Categorize, break out, and track tasks better

When it comes to brainstorming tasks for a project, assigning duties for an upcoming event, or organizing your team's personal growth goals, task management is crucial for success. But, as we all know, tasks can easily get lost and scattered, whether it's forgetting to write them down, being unable to locate them, or not assigning them to owners. With Lark's upgraded Tasks, you and your team can collect all your tasks together, all in one place, and keep track of who is working on what.
When creating a task, you can assign an owner, add a deadline, and invite multiple collaborators - Lark will immediately inform your teammates through chat notifications to keep the team updated. You can further personalize your task list by creating sections and breaking tasks up into subtasks, making big deliverables more approachable. Plus, customized fields and filters are here to help organize and locate tasks you need to focus on.
Now, collaborating with others on tasks has become much easier - it's clear who does what so that to-dos will not be left unfinished. (Oh, and the best part with Task List - feeling the satisfaction of checking your tasks off once completed ✅).
